Environmentally sustainable growing is important to us and that's why we have invested in creating our own water reservoir, capable of holding 14 million litres of rain water.

Solar Panels

By installing solar panels we are now able to generate most our own renewable electricity. This investment has enabled us to reduce our annual carbon emissions.

Biomass Fuel

During the colder months, our glasshouses are heated using renewable biomass fuel. What is biomass? - "Biomass is a renewable energy source, generated from burning wood, plants and other organic matter, such as manure or household waste. It releases CO2 when burned, but considerably less than fossil fuels. We consider biomass a renewable energy source, if the plants or other organic materials being burned are replaced."

Electric Company Car

Our company pool car is an electric Nissan Leaf, and we have installed an electric charger to encourage staff to go electric.

Our Commitment to the environment

We have installed insect netting into the green houses to reduce chemical applications. We are planting wild flowers to attract wildlife, and we have beetle banks and spinneys. Beetle banks can boost predatory insect numbers which can help pest control thus reducing use of pesticides. We are committed to delivering environmentally sustainable food and farming. Being a LEAF Marque certified businesses means we have been independently verified against the robust LEAF Marque Standard.
