What is Chinese Celery?

Chinese celery is a slightly smaller version of the celery we often see, but its flavour is stronger. The hearty hollow stems are crisp with some varieties light green, dark green or white. The fragant leaves are typically jagged on the edges. Chinese celery is indispensable to many Asian soups, stews and braised dishes as adds great flavor. It tends to be a little too strong in flavour for salads - best to try only a little first!
